Chicago's Leading Volleyball Club

Michio Chicago Volleyball Academy has 4 core principles: integrity, teamwork, discipline and dedication.

Our mission is to provide our players and coaches with the highest level of mentoring, both on and off the court . We believe that a small family atmosphere is critical. We know that it takes a collaborative effort from players, parents, and coaches to make this an unique experience for all involved. Our passionate and enthusiastic  staff include college and high school coaches along with experienced players working constantly to develop their teams. All of us work together to ensure that all players in our club are receiving the best training possible. We also provide a staff led by Nadia Edwards to help guide and assist high school players in their college recruiting process. Every week, colleges are reaching out to our staff about our players and staff members have formed great relationships with these colleges. Many of our alumni are doing great things. Each year, many of them are leading their conferences with Player of the Week awards, Rookie of the Year awards, and a few who are leading the country in different categories with the NCAA. In 2017 alone, Michio had 2 players who were named Player of the Year in their respective conferences as sophomores. In 2016, Michio had 3 players with Freshman of the Year accolades. This is a tribute to how our staff trains and develops our players each season.

In the past 11 years, Michio has gained tremendous respect nationally and is ranked one of the top clubs in the state of Illinois and in the country. Michio Chicago VBA qualified many of its teams for the USAV Junior National Championship since its inception and won the USAV National Championship in 2012 in the 15 Open division. This year alone in 2021, Michio 18 National won us another USAV national championship and our 17 National team came in 2nd place. Our 13 National and 16 National came in 5th place in this prestigious tournament where every team must qualify in order to participate.  In 2018, our 17 National team won the USAV national championship.  In 2017, almost half of our teams qualified for the USAV Junior National event, making it the most successful year in Michio history. In 2018, we broke our record for qualified teams once again.  In 2015, our 17 National team finished 5th in the country in the Open Division. In 2016, our teams finished very high in both the USAV and AAU national championships. 17 National finished 2nd and 16 Premier finishing 3rd at nationals and took 1st in the Sports Performance President's Day Challenge. Our 18 National team was crowned Patriot Champs at the USAV National Championship. Most importantly, all of our players who wish to play in college have all accomplished that goal.

With a 97% retention rate, Michio proves to be a club where players feel valued and parents are happy. We don't believe in moving players around unless it's necessary. We don't just manage our players; we teach and develop our players. Each player, regardless of the team that they are on, is given the same opportunities and the same attention.
